State Government participates in the foreign trade operations symposium in Itajaí
The State Government participated in the first edition of the Itajaí Comex Summit 2023, which took place last Thursday (18) and Friday (19). At the opening, Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juliano Froehner – representing Governor Jorginho Mello -, presented the potential of Santa Catarina and the State Government’s incentives for companies that work with foreign trade.
According to Froehner, this is an essential event and, in fact, a Summit. “50% of all Santa Catarina’s exports and imports pass through the region’s port complex, breathing foreign trade. It’s really essential that all these operators come together to talk. Thus, it is possible to identify what are the next challenges and what needs to be aligned in order to have an even more vigorous and advanced state in terms of foreign trade.
During the symposium on foreign trade operations, secretary Juliano Froehner also participated in the panel “Internationalization of companies and business development abroad” and also signed a technical-scientific agreement with the University of Vale do Itajaí (UNIVALI) for the development of joint actions, programs, and projects for research, extension, culture and technological development.
Itajaí Comex Summit 2023 is the first major foreign trade event in the city and it was thought and planned for the qualification, exchange of information, and connections between the participants with the main themes of current foreign trade.
“We wanted, through this technical seminar, to show the strength of this segment in our region. We have importers, exporters, industries, and service providers in all areas related to foreign trade, and this is one of the main sectors of the economy in the region of Itajaí”, highlighted NCE coordinator, Paula Machado.
Itajaí Comex Summit was promoted by the Foreign Trade Center of the Itajaí Business Association (ACII), in partnership with the Federal Revenue Office of Brazil in the municipality and UNIVALI.
