Santa Catarina begins negotiations to receive SHEIN investments in Brazil
Along with the news that SHEIN has plans to make large investments in Brazil, Santa Catarina officially entered the dispute to receive a good share of investments and new business from the Chinese company. On April 28th, the State Government received two SHEIN executives at its Administrative Center.
Attracting investment is one of the priorities of the State Government. “When talking about Santa Catarina, it is clear that investors have a differentiated perception, but when they come here, that becomes a certainty. We managed to bring together a mix of logistics, infrastructure, professionalism and quality of life”, says governor Jorginho Mello.
Considered one of the largest international shopping portals in the fashion industry, the Chinese giant intends to become a large local producer and, based on its production in Brazil, expand sales in Latin America and North America – the plans were announced last week by the company itself, which triggered the rush of the brazilian states to attract these investments.
The goal is bold: by the end of 2026, SHEIN intends that 85% of the group’s sales throughout the American Continent will come from Brazilian production. To achieve the goal, the company announced an investment of R$750 million in the country, which should generate around 100,000 direct and indirect jobs in 3 years.
SHEIN has already started hiring in the country, with more than 100 vacancies advertised on a business networking site.
The secretaries Juliano Froehner (Foreign Affairs) and Marcelo Fett (Science, Technology and Innovation) participated in the meeting, in addition to teams from the State Secretariats for Planning and Finance.
